What’s included

Each nuc contains five frames of bees with brood, pollen, honey, and a marked laying queen. Our bees are of Carniolan stock, known for their gentle temperament, early spring buildup, and honey production.

A nuc, short for “nucleus colony,” is a small, established honey bee colony with its own queen.

What you’ll need at home

Have the following equipment ready before pickup:

• A deep hive body, bottom board, and lid
• At least three empty frames with an internal feeder, or five empty frames with a Boardman feeder
• A hive tool and smoker
• A bee veil or jacket and beekeeping gloves

What to bring to pickup

Bring a bee veil or jacket and a pair of beekeeping gloves.

Ordering and payment

Full payment is due when you place your order. Nuc orders are invoiced separately from equipment orders. We typically sell out by the end of February, so we encourage you to order early.

Cancellations and refunds

Orders canceled on or before February 28, 2027, will be refunded minus a $20 cancellation fee per nuc. Orders canceled after February 28, 2027, are nonrefundable.

Once you accept your bees at our pickup location near Tulsa, all sales are final. No returns or refunds are available.
